Rosa P. (Bogalhas) Fernandes, age 85, passed away on October 13, 2026. She was born on February 4, 1941 in Beca, Portugal, daughter of the late Frederico and Senhorinha (Barroso) Bogalhas. Rosa worked at the John R. Lyman Company for many years before she retired. She is predeceased by her husband, Bento F. Fernandes who passed away in 2001. She is survived by two sons, Steven Fernandes and his wife Noemi of Chicopee and John Fernandes of Springfield; one daughter, Isabel Puppolo and her husband Angelo of Springfield; two brothers, Manuel Bogalhas of Montreal, Canada and John Bogalhas of South Hadley; five grandchildren, Jenise, Cecilia, Bento, Julia and Olivia; eight great grandchildren, Emma, Brady, Delyla, Aniyah, Karter, Beau, Everleigh and Catherine along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly. Visitation will be held on the morning of the funeral, Saturday, October 17, 2026 from 8:30 – 9:30 AM at Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee, MA followed by a Mass of Chrisitan Burial in Sacred Heart Church at 10:00 AM with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
