Michael A. Baker
June 13, 1962 – October 10, 2026
Michael A. Baker, 64, passed away on October 10, 2026. He was the son of the late Judith A. Stoddard and Russell H. Baker and the devoted father of Michael A. Baker Jr.
Michael lived life with vibrant energy, hands-on creativity, and a sharp sense of humor. A loving father and uncle, he cherished shooting hoops with his son and nephews. Each year, he poured that same care into his garden, meticulously growing a fresh harvest of vegetables.
A lover of music and art, Michael spent countless hours strumming his guitar, listening to smooth jazz and classic blues, and turning up the volume on his favorite band, The Rolling Stones. He appreciated the simple, soulful pleasures of life, whether tending his garden, metal detecting, painting, or relaxing while watching The Lawrence Welk Show. During the holiday season, he brought festive warmth into the home by gathering fresh berries and pine branches to craft handmade wreaths.
Known for his spirited personality and unforgettable catchphrases, Michael will always be remembered for his famous rallying cry, both on and off the basketball court: “Throw it down!”
In addition to his son, Michael is survived by his brothers, Kevin J. Baker and Darryl S. Baker, both of Bridgewater; his sister, Marlene of Brockton; (brother of the late Janine L Norton & Mark A Baker); his aunt, Kathleen Andrade of Brockton; his uncle, Arthur L. Hunt of Loveland, Ohio; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Following Cremation, a Memorial Service will be held in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street, Brockton, Thursday October 22nd from 5-8 pm.
