Obituary

Maria (Krimbithi) Paroulidis, 71, of Worcester died Tuesday, October 6th in Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She leaves her husband of 52 years, Nikolaos Theofanis Paroulidis; her son, Theofanis “Theo” Paroulidis and his wife, Samantha of Sutton; two grandchildren, Lena and Nikolas; two sisters, Sotiria and Demetra both of Greece; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Despina Izzo; and two sisters, Eleni and Evangelia.
Born in Thiva, Greece, the daughter of Anastasios and Ismini Krimbithi and immigrated to the United States in 1977, where she built a life centered around family, faith, and caring for others. She was a devoted member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
Maria was a loving, kind, and compassionate woman who always put the needs of others before her own. Her family was the center of her world, and nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with those she loved, especially her cherished grandchildren.
She was incredibly talented with her hands and loved to crochet and knit, creating just about anything one could imagine. Her beautiful handmade creations were a reflection of the love and care she put into everything she did. Maria also loved to cook and entertain, finding great joy in bringing family together around the table. Whether preparing a delicious meal, welcoming loved ones into her home, or simply enjoying time together, she had a special way of making everyone feel loved and welcome.
Maria will be remembered for her generous heart, selfless nature, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her kindness, warmth, and the countless ways she cared for others will forever be treasured by all who knew and loved her.
Maria's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Brigham and Women's Hospital, especially the palliative care team, hospice team, and nurses, for their extraordinary compassion, kindness, and dedication. Their willingness to always go above and beyond brought comfort and peace to Maria and her family during a difficult time. The family would also like to extend their sincere appreciation to the physicians, nurses, and staff at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for the exceptional care, treatment, and support Maria received throughout her journey.
Her funeral is Wednesday, October 14th with a service at 11:30 a.m. in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. (Please go directly to the Cathedral). Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street. Calling hours are Tuesday, October 13th from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284.
