BUXTON- Kyle E. Jones, 59 of Buxton passed away on October 6, 2026, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, Maine after a brief battle with lung cancer.
He was born December 28, 1966, in Portland, Maine to Patricia Straw Gallagher and Richard N. Jones. Kyle attended school in the SAD 6 school district until junior high when the family moved to Lynnfield, MA. Upon graduation from Lynnfield High School, Kyle moved back to Maine.
Kyle worked as a machinist in his early years. Eventually he took a job with Greg's Glass and Glazing where he found his niche and perfected his craft as a glazer. For the past eleven years Kyle worked for Bagala Window Works where he found his true passion restoring antique glass windows on historic buildings. He very much enjoyed the history surrounding these buildings and was always happy to share what he was working on. Kyle not only loved what he did for work but he loved the people he worked with and considered them family especially his boss Mark who he had developed a strong friendship with. They lovingly referred to him as the "Grumpy Glazer".
Kyle was known for his dry sense of humor, laid back personality and exceptional work ethic. He enjoyed fishing, working in his yard and fair season. His last outing before his death was to the Cumberland Fair where he enjoyed time with family and catching up with old friends.
Kyle is predeceased by his father Richard N. Jones and his stepfather Robert J. Gallagher. He leaves behind his cherished family; son Casey Jones, his wife Jillene and granddaughters Cora and Delilah of Limington, ME; longtime partner Darlene Smith of Buxton, ME; mother Patricia Gallagher of Salem, SC; Sister Laurie Doody husband Tom of Dade City, FL; brother Oakley Jones wife Kelly-Jo of Salem, SC; many special nieces and a nephew; many cousins and an aunt and uncle as well as three stepsisters; Cathy Crook of Reading, MA; Lynda Smith of New Market, NH and Sandra Hussey of Waterville, ME. Per Kyles wishes there will not be a service or a burial. He wished to be cremated and to have a celebration of life which was held in August. He enjoyed a beautiful day with family and friends.
A special Thank you to Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, Andwell Hospice, and specifically Hope and Adrienne whose care and compassion for not only Kyle, but also his entire family was greatly appreciated.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service, Buxton, www.mainefuneral.com
