Limington – Dorothy Jean Richards, 76 passed away on September 16, 2026, after a short battle with cancer she passed away at home. She was born in Hiram, Maine on April 6, 1950.
She is survived by her Guardian Lori Lewis, her husband Erik and their four children, Izabella, Annalyse, Timothy and Allyson. She is also survived by her Bryant foster family, Aunt Dorothy Witham, Uncle David Bryant and wife Sue as well as many cousins. While growing up she loved going and hanging out at the family reunions and attending the many holiday gatherings where there was singing and music being played. She loved to teach several of the kids in the family how to play some of the games and to put puzzles together.
Dorothy was deeply loved by her caregiver and her family – Jason, Tabitha, Hunter, Ashley, Gracelynn, Piper, Ian, Morgan, Nykolas, Emily and Eloise. She also had many other family members of the heart who would come to visit and become special to her.
Dorothy was truly one of a kind, a perfect mix of sweet, sassy and just a little bit spicy. She had a way of making everyone smile and fall in love with her. She was never afraid to tell you that she loved you and give you a hug. She brought so much laughter, love and personality into her family’s lives. She very much loved her routines and going out with her special friend Teresa to visit her “old lady friends” as she would lovingly call them. Those outings brought her so much joy and became a special part of who she was.
She touched the hearts of so many people. She was loved, cared for, and cherished by many. Her memory will live on in the laughter she brought, the love she gave so freely and all the little moments that made her so wonderfully Dorothy.
We also want to give a special thank you to the three important people that came into her life during this difficult time. Denise, Dorothy’s Nurse, Sarah, her CNA and Francis her Chaplain. Each of you had such an impact on her and her entire family. The love, compassion, comfort and support you showed during this time will never be forgotten. We are truly so fortunate that you came into our lives and were there for her and everyone that was surrounding her.
She was truly one of a kind, and she will be missed more than words can ever express.
