Lorraine H. Pelletier, 90, passed away on Wednesday, September 30th, following a sudden illness. Born on March 16, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Audora (LaRoche) Chouinard. Lorraine, raised by her Aunt Rose and Uncle Albert LaBrie, grew up in Salem and attended St. Joseph’s School. She was also a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church.
She worked as a cashier at several Salem grocery stores, one at which she met the love of her life, Armand, before joining Jennifer’s Hallmark where she worked until her retirement.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter, Lorraine was the sunshine in the lives of those around her, always ready to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. She could bring a smile to anyone’s face and was eager to help all of those around her. She loved tending her flowers and garden with her outstanding green thumb, completing word searches and puzzles, watching the Game Show Network, bowling, and going out to eat at her favorite restaurants with her family. Her kindness, generosity, and uniqueness made her truly beloved by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Andrea Marie of Lynn, two cherished granddaughters, Jillian Lee and Emma Rose, and her brother Henry Chouinard of Peabody. In addition, she is predeceased by her late husband, Armand Raymond, son, Brian Charles, sister, Violet Cecile Fontaine; and her brother, Ernest LaBrie.
In lieu of flowers, the Pelletier family asks you to please consider donating to the American Cancer Society. As requested, funeral services are private. Arrangements are under the care of Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette Street, Salem MA.
