In Loving Memory of Maria Ortiz

Maria Ortiz, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and woman of faith, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2026. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Maria was a devoted Catholic whose faith was an important part of her life. She cherished her family and found great joy in the love and time she shared with them. She was a loving wife to her husband, Guadalupe Ortiz, and a devoted mother who gave her children a lifetime of love, guidance, and cherished memories.

Maria is survived by her beloved husband, Guadalupe Ortiz, and her children: Maria (Jesus Sanchez), Jorge, Juan, Omar, and Angelica. She was a proud grandmother to 13 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to one great-grandchild, who brought immense joy and happiness into her life.

She is also survived by her loving mother, Ma Soledad Herrera, as well as her brothers and sisters and many extended family members and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Maria was preceded in death by her father, Antonio Diaz.

Her family will remember her for her love, strength, faith, and the special place she held in the hearts of those around her. Though she is no longer with us, her love and the memories she created will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, family, and all those who loved her.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 8, 2026 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Ocwieja-Robles Funeral Home, 4256 S Mozart.

Funeral Mass Friday, October 9, 2026 10:30am Immaculate Conception, 2745 W 44th St.
After Mass we will proceed to Resurrection Cemetery, 7201 Archer Road S., Justice, Illinois.




En Memoria Amorosa de María Ortiz

María Ortiz, amada esposa, madre, abuela, bisabuela, hermana y mujer de fe, falleció el 2 de octubre de 2026. Será profundamente extrañada por todos aquellos que tuvieron la dicha de conocerla y amarla.

María fue una mujer católica devota cuya fe fue una parte importante de su vida. Amaba profundamente a su familia y encontraba una gran alegría en los momentos que compartía con ellos. Fue una esposa amorosa de su esposo, Guadalupe Ortiz, y una madre dedicada que brindó a sus hijos toda una vida de amor, consejos y hermosos recuerdos.

María deja en vida a su amado esposo, Guadalupe Ortiz, y a sus hijos: María (Jesús Sánchez), Jorge, Juan, Omar y Angélica. Fue una orgullosa abuela de 13 nietos y bisabuela de un bisnieto, quienes llenaron su vida de inmensa alegría y felicidad.

También deja en vida a su querida madre, Ma. Soledad Herrera, así como a sus hermanos y hermanas, además de muchos familiares y amigos que llevarán por siempre su recuerdo en sus corazones.

María fue precedida en la muerte por su padre, Antonio Díaz.

Su familia la recordará por su amor, fortaleza, fe y por el lugar tan especial que ocupó en el corazón de cada persona que la conoció. Aunque ya no esté físicamente con nosotros, su amor y los recuerdos que dejó continuarán viviendo en sus hijos, nietos, bisnieto, familiares y en todos aquellos que la amaron.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el Jueves 8 de octubre de 2026, de 3:00 p. m. a 7:00 p. m., en Ocwieja-Robles Funeral Home, 4256 S Mozart.

Habrá estacionamiento adicional disponible en Five Holy Martyrs, 4327 S Richmond.

La Misa de Funeral se celebrará el Viernes 9 de octubre de 2026 a las 10:30 a. m. en Immaculate Conception, 2745 W 44th St.

Después de la misa, se continuará al cementerio Resurrection Cemetery, 7201 Archer Road S., Justice, Illinois.
