CHICOPEE ~ Frances Lillian “Fran” (Martino) Casa, 95, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. She passed into Eternal Life at the Life Care Center of Wilbraham surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born on November 5, 1930 in Manhattan, New York, a beloved daughter of the late Salvatore and Katherine (Loud) Martino. She was raised and educated in Manhattan, NY and lived all over the country with her husband Sal and their family while he served his country in the United States Air Force, until they settled in Chicopee in 1966 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was employed as a Mail Clerk at the Wall Street Journal in Chicopee. She enjoyed knitting, playing bingo, working on word search puzzles, and was also an avid reader. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Salvatore Frank “Sal” Casa who was Called Home on November 1, 2018. They were married on July 4, 1954 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Brooklyn, New York and were blessed with over 64 years of happiness together. She leaves her four loving and devoted children, Louis R. “Lou” Casa and his wife, Jan, of South Hadley, Toni J. Colson and her husband, Edwin “Gus” Colson, of Ludlow, Gail C. Casa of Chicopee, and Patricia A. “Patty” Presnal and her husband, Ted, of Chicopee; her nine cherished grandchildren, Melissa Carriveau and her husband, Tim, Diane Moore and her husband, Matt, Lynette D’Angelo and her husband, Michael, Michelle Roberts and her husband, Jeff, Christopher Guyette and his wife, Denise Darcy, Tracy Guyette and her partner, Kevin Palaia, Craig Presnal and his wife, Tess, Matthew Presnal and his wife, Lindsey, and Morgan Presnal; her thirteen cherished great-grandchildren, Mason, Taryn, Nathan, Layton, Camden, Brayden, Jacob, Vinny, Isabella, Nicholas, Mackenzie, Beckett, and Parker; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. She will be deeply missed by her faithful canine companion, Bella. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her six brothers and two sisters. Her family would like to express their gratitude to the amazing staff at the Life Care Center of Wilbraham for their care and compassion. Family and friends are invited to attend a Committal Service on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. At Fran’s request, there are no visiting hours. Her funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
