Walter A. Martin was born at a U.S. Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. Walter graduated from Dartmouth Schools. He lived in North Dartmouth, MA and passed away in his bed at home. He was in the U.S. Navy until he was honorably discharged in 1970. He was in the reserves until 1973. Wally worked at Poyant Signs. Wally met Laura at the VFW in Acushnet on September 1, 1996. He loved traveling with Laura to Maine. He loved watching sports.. especially the 49ers. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends at the VFW and American Legion in Acushnet where he was a member.

Survived by: His partner of 30 years: Laura L. Paulson, his stepdaughter, Stephanie L. (Paulson)Taylor and her two children: Jayson and Kiara. and his stepson, Jeffrey D. Paulson.
His Brother: Robert G. Martin ~ Margaret (Lewis) Martin
His Sister: Sandi Martin. His Nieces: Stephanie (Martin) Costa ~ Kevin Costa and their son Ethan and Trevor. Jessica (Tirrell) McAleer ~ Brian McAleer and their children: Isabella, Delilah, Daphne, Raymond and Silas
His Nephews: Patrick Martin ~ Kate (Hefferman) Martin and their daughter Nora, and Jon Tirrell.
Committal service at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne will be announced at a later date.
