JANET MARIE (DELUCA) FAZIO, 92, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Janet was the matriarch of our family—the heart of so many cherished family traditions and a gracious host who, alongside her late husband, Lou, made their home a place where family and friends always felt welcome. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, mother-in-law, and friend who was always present in times of need.
Janet was a deeply faithful and religious woman who, together with Lou, created a faith-filled home for their family. The values they instilled in their children continue to live on through the generations. Many of us continue to serve our communities and those in need because of the example our parents gave us. We continue to attend church and serve as disciples in our own ways, carrying forward the faith, love, and traditions they passed on to us.
Janet was one of eight children raised by her loving parents Annie and Frank DeLuca. Janet left college to help care for her father and later devoted herself to caring for her aging mother. Her unwavering love for family extended through every generation that followed.
Janet married Louis M. Fazio Jr. in 1956 and together they raised four beautiful children. While raising her family she devoted more than thirty-three years to Girls Inc., formerly the Girls Club, where she served as the after school leader and librarian mentoring young girls. Her dedication to helping others reflected the kindness and generosity she embodied.
Janet was a devoted parishioner at Our Lady of Mount Carmel - St. Ann Church and later at Our Lady of Loreto. She was also a member of the St. Patrick’s Prayer Shawl Ministry, where she lovingly prayed while she crocheted more than 50 shawls, each one made with care and compassion to bring comfort, warmth, and solace to individuals and families in times of need.
Janet loved to travel with Big Lou and enjoyed discovering new places and making memories together. Of all the places they visited, Italy was her favorite.
Janet was always there for everyone in the family. She was a confidant you could turn to and share your concerns with, knowing that whatever you told her would never go beyond that conversation. She was full of wisdom, a problem solver, and a trusted advisor. She was someone who could always be counted on—someone who made you feel heard, understood, and supported.
She was also a gracious host who taught us that when someone comes into your home, they are a guest—and guests should always be fed. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort, laughter, and, of course, plenty of food.
Family traditions were an especially important part of Janet’s life. Growing up, and later while raising our own children, many holidays were spent at her home. We all learned to cherish those traditions—the Easter treats Dad would bring home from the bakery, the annual meat pies, homemade pasta, and, most importantly, the time spent together as a family. These traditions became treasured memories, passed down from one generation to the next, and they remain an everlasting part of Janet’s legacy.
Janet leaves behind her two daughters, Anne Haas and her husband, Robert, and Nancy Lindgren and her husband, Gary; and her two sons, Louis M. Fazio III and his wife, Anita Ulloa, and Frank Fazio and his wife, Laurie.
She also leaves behind her thirteen grandchildren: Matthew Haantrella and his wife, Lindsey; Andrew Haas and his wife, Rose; Janet Haas and her husband, Jake Whitney; Annemarie Haas and her fiancé, James Johnson; Daniel Lindgren and his wife, Stacy; Jeff Lindgren and his wife, Lila; Kristina Weiss and her husband, Kyle; Shaun Ulloa and his wife Desiree Guerrero; Gina
King; Analisa Fazio and her boyfriend, Thomas Mickens Jr.; Michael Fazio and his wife, Natalie; Elizabeth Fairbanks and her husband, Nicholas; and Ashley Fazio and her boyfriend, Adam Briand.
She leaves behind five great-grandchildren: Julian Zayn, Olivia Grace, Stella Lou, Hadley Jane, and Madelyn Mae. She also leaves behind her siblings, Richard DeLuca and his partner, Barbara; Robert DeLuca; and Kay Drumheller; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Louis M. Fazio Jr., with whom she shared 61 years of marriage; her brother, Frank DeLuca Jr. and his wife, Gloria; her sister, Helen Koslowski and her husband, Ben; her brother, Edward DeLuca; and her sister, Frances Candito and her husband, Sam.
Janet will be remembered for her deep faith, unwavering devotion to her family, wisdom, generosity, and the traditions and memories she created throughout her life. She was the heart of her family, bringing people together and creating a lasting sense of home and belonging. Her greatest legacy lives on in the generations she helped shape, and the love she shared so freely—gifts her family will carry with them always.
Janet’s funeral mass will be on Thursday October 1st, 2026 at Our Lady of Loreto- Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church 37 Massasoit Road Worcester, Ma. at 11:30am.
