PARSONSFIELD- William (Will) Lorimore Worden, age 72, passed away unexpectedly at home on September
23rd, 2026, due to complications from chronic health conditions. He was born in Ware,
Massachusetts, on February 15th, 1954, son of Thomas H. and Phyllis Worden Jr.
After graduating from Ware High School, Will attended the University of Massachusetts
Amherst, where he received undergraduate and master's degrees in Agriculture and Agricultural
Economics; during his time there, he ran one of the University’s Farms. He loved his Alma
Mater and entertaining family and friends at the UMass Club.
Will went on to manage animal husbandry programs at Rapidan River Horse Farm in Virginia,
as well as at Lana Lobel and Cabin Branch Farms, in Maryland and Virginia, respectively. After
several years, Will studied law at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Following law school
graduation, Will was honored to clerk for a federal judge before moving to Portland, Maine,
where he proudly joined Pierce Atwood LLP. Will practiced at Pierce Atwood for his entire
career, elevated to partner and later as the partner in charge of the Boston office. Will retired
from law practice in late 2025.
Will loved spending time with his wife Peggy and two sons, Eric and Ian.
Will loved his hobbies, including his Harleys, his Corvette, and watching all sports, especially
the Boston Celtics and Bruins. Spending time in Quabbin brought him great joy, and he always
made time for a walk or drive if he was in the area.
He is predeceased by his wife, Peggy Loomis Worden, who passed away in 2026, and his
brother James, who passed away in 2009. Will is survived by his sons, Eric, Ian, and wife,
Chandler; his siblings, Ralph and wife, Kathy, MaryAlice, Bruce and wife Lori, and Donald, as
well as his Aunt Johann Taylor, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th, at 10 am at Trinity Episcopal
Church, 17 Park Ave., Ware, Massachusetts. Interment will follow at Aspen Grove Cemetery.
