Priscilla A. Johnston, 82, of Worcester died Wednesday, September 23rd at home surrounded by her loving family. She leaves her husband of 57 years, Joseph J. Johnston; three children, Scott M. Johnston, Jerilynn A. Johnston of Charlestown, and Jason J. Johnston of Oxford; and two grandchildren, Noah S. Johnston and Elise A. Johnston.
Priscilla was born and raised in Worcester the daughter of Joseph A. and Helen E. (Greenwich) Dupuis and graduated from St. Peter’s High School. She went on to enjoy a long career with the Worcester Public Schools, where she worked for more than 20 years. She retired in 2012 as Food Service Operations Manager. Earlier in her career, she worked for Tom McCan Corporation.
Priscilla attended Our Lady of the Angels Church and, for a time, shared her faith with young people as a CCD teacher.
For more than 50 years, Priscilla was devoted to a community centered on sobriety, fellowship, and supporting others through life’s challenges. She was deeply respected by those whose paths crossed hers and generously gave her time, wisdom, and encouragement to many people over the years. She served as a mentor and source of strength to countless individuals, always willing to listen, offer guidance, and help someone along their journey.
Priscilla had a creative spirit and loved working with her hands. She especially enjoyed pottery, ceramics, needlepoint, crocheting, and creating home décor. Over the years, she also enjoyed selling Avon and Tupperware.
An animal lover throughout her life, Priscilla had a special place in her heart for animals and treasured their companionship. She will be remembered for her creativity, her strength, and especially for the many years she spent quietly helping and encouraging others.
Her funeral is Thursday, October 1st from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with her Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton. Calling Hours are Wednesday, September 30th from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
