Herbert R. Greene, Jr., 69, of Home, PA passed away at his home on Friday, September 25, 2026.
The son of Herbert R. and Grace A. (Carney), Sr., he was born on November 13, 1956 in Indiana, PA.
Following graduation from high school, Herb proudly served in the US Marine Corps as a Lance Corporal from 1976-1978.
Herb’s career revolved around truck driving, from over the road driving to driving a water truck.
An outdoorsman, Herb enjoyed spending time in nature hunting and fishing with his kids and grandkids. He had a lifelong appreciation of Ford Mustangs.
Surviving are his four children: Herbert Greene III and wife Sarah of Hillsdale, PA; Amby Strong and significant other, Shawn of Heilwood, PA; Logan Greene of Home, PA and Cheyenne Greene and fiancé, Brett Heeter of Rimersburg, PA and his eight grandchildren: Kennedy; Maverick; Kali; Bailey; Avery; Brayden; Liam and Audrey.
Also surviving are Herb’s two sisters; Shari Wilhelm of Indiana, PA and Patricia Brown of Springs, PA and his girlfriend, Linda Gregg of Home, PA.
Preceded in death by his parents in 2022; his maternal grandmother, Dora C. Carney; his brother, Marty R. Greene in 2007; his brother-in-law, Joe Wilhelm and his cousin, Bill Vennard.
Family and friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA. Immediately following the visitation, a 1:00 p.m. military funeral honors ceremony will be observed at the funeral home by members of the Clymer American Legion Post #222. Interment will be at Ruffner Cemetery, Tanoma, PA.
