George M. Castonguay, passed away on September 20, 2026. He was born on March 28, 1961, in Holyoke, MA, son of the late Maurice G. Castonguay and Lorraine L. Jarry. George was a graduate of Chicopee High School, Class of 1979 where he held the Running Track record for many years. He went on to attend UMASS Amherst. George later worked as a manager at Home Depot and also in retail for many years before he retired. He enjoyed collecting stamps and playing chess. He studied Chinese Culture and loved reading American Historical literature and playing cards with his family. He was a lifelong Red Sox Fan. He is survived by two sons, Aaron Castonguay and his wife Natali of Colorado and Cameron Castonguay of San Diego, CA; one brother, Thomas Castonguay of Easton Ma. Three sisters, Susan Mielnikowski and her husband Rick of Chicopee, Mary James and her husband Mark of Brooksville, FL and Lori Castonguay and her husband Steven Beard of Springhill, FL, and brother " Hui". He also leaves one beloved granddaughter, baby Clair. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 from 8:30 - 9:30 AM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Stanislaus Basilica at 10:00 AM, followed by burial in St Stanislaus Cemetery.
