CHARLTON - Laura J. (Sullivan) Dumas, 84, of Charlton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 2, 2026, at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester after suffering a heart attack.
Born in Worcester on July 7, 1942, Laura was the daughter of Paul and Annette (Adams) Sullivan and a graduate of South High School. Laura spent much of her working life in accounting and bookkeeping, retiring from Life Skills, Inc. in Webster in 2012.
Laura was predeceased by her parents; her siblings, Richard Sullivan, Gerald Sullivan, Donald Sullivan, Rita Mader and Carol Bryson; and her nieces and nephews, Edward Bryson Jr., Stephen Santimaw, Beth Houle and Patricia Bryson.
She leaves her daughter, Debra Dumas of Los Angeles, California; her grandson, Lucas Wasiak of Austin, Texas; many beloved nieces and nephews; her cat, Misty; and her much-loved granddog, Stella.
Laura had a great sense of humor and an exceptional memory. She loved animals, gardening, watching cooking shows and trying new recipes, fall weather, and the beach, having spent her early years with Debi down the Cape. She loved watching Good Morning America, The View, This Week with George Stephanopoulos, Judge Judy, and America's Funniest Home Videos,
keeping up with everything from pop culture to current events and politics.
Calling hours will be held at 10:00 A.M., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 A.M., on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 10 H. Putnam Rd. Ext., Charlton, Massachusetts. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Laura's memory to Friends of Charlton Animal Shelter.
