WEBSTER – Andrzej Janusz Melewski, 81, died Monday, September 21, 2026 surrounded by his family.
He leaves his wife of 42 years, Stanislawa (Adamowicz) Melewski, a son, Krzysztof Melewski of Poland; a brother, Zenon Melewski of Wroclaw, Poland; and nephews and nieces.
He was born on May 15, 1945 in Poznan, Poland, a son of Jan and Helena (Slokauska) Melewski and graduated from a technical school there. In 1982 he moved to the United States, living in Dallas, TX, Worcester and Dudley. He has lived here since 2003.
Mr. Melewski worked as a machinist in a research laboratory in Wroclaw, Poland and then as a machine operator at Wachusett Wire Company in Worcester before retiring in 1993.
He was a communicant of Saint Joseph Basilica. He enjoyed fishing.
His funeral will be held on Friday, September 25, from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, September 24, in the funeral home.
