Bernard R. Thomas (72) of Holbrook passed away on September 9, 2026, at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital.
He was born in Brooklyn, New York, the son of the late Rufus Thomas and Alice Jackson. Bernard was a retired supervisor in the Supply Department at the Taunton State Hospital and worked as a transportation driver for the Boys & Girls Club and was a devoted member of Brockton Assembly of God Church.
Bernard enjoyed fishing and listening to jazz music. He had a genuine passion for helping others, especially through his work at the food bank, and treasured the time he spent with others at the Life Center. His kindness, generosity, and willingness to lend a helping hand touched many throughout his community.
Bernard is survived by his immediate family, relatives, and many dear friends.
Viewing will be held at Brockton Assembly of God, 199 Warren Avenue, Brockton, on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with Funeral Services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will follow.
Immediately following the Funeral Service, all are welcome to attend the Repast at the Boys & Girls Club, 233 Warren Avenue, Brockton, located next to the church. The repast will continue until 4:00 p.m.
