Yola Elaine Powell, 93, of Medford, passed away on September 15th, 2026. She was born in St. Catherine, Jamaica, on September 3rd, 1933, to the late Roslyn Grant, and was the eldest of nine children. Yola is survived by her siblings Lloyd Fairclough, Vincent Fairclough, May Fairclough, Alfred Fairclough, and Basil Fairclough, and was predeceased by her siblings Olive Fairclough, Mavis Fairclough, and Keith Fairclough.
Yola was the loving mother of Jennifer McLennon and Jean McLennon, both of Medford, Merrick Anderson (Lori) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Alton Palmer of Medford, and Sharon Smith of Medford. She was a proud grandmother to Jeneil McLennon, Paige Davis (Kyle), Kadeem Smith, Michael Henderson, Jermaine Henderson, Haley Anderson, Alton J. Palmer, and Mateo Anderson. Yola was the cherished great-grandmother of Ella Perez, Ariya Palmer, Aiden Perez, and Alton J. Palmer Jr., and was also the Godmother of Mya Fairclough. Yola leaves behind many nieces and nephews who were an important part of her life.
Visiting hours will be held in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Wednesday, September 30th, beginning at 10:30 AM and followed by a service in the funeral home at 12:30 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
