Obituary

I am sharing the announcement of the passing of Kendall Prescott Chase, who passed away on September 9, 2026, at the age of 83, following a lengthy illness.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on July 31, 1943, to Kendall and Gladys (Fracker) Chase, Ken graduated from Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, New Hampshire, and earned his Bachelor's degree from West Virginia Wesleyan University.

He worked for many years as a self-employed real estate agent and broker, owning two real estate franchises in San Francisco, California. In the early 1990s, he also served as a Masonic Lodge Master in the Bay Area.

Ken loved volunteering, playing softball, watching sports, listening to music, playing bridge, reading, and cooking. These are some of the things he enjoyed. He was generous with his time, actively participating in community outreach programs without seeking recognition, and he faced life’s challenges with remarkable grace and resilience.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Leslie Chase; his two sons, Kevin Chase (and his wife Janeen) of Adrian, Michigan, and Scott Chase of Texas; his sister, Sheryl Chase of North Carolina; his three granddaughters, Emilie, Elisabeth, and Elyse; and a wide circle of friends.

Ken lived a life that is well-lived and well-loved and his legacy of warmth and kindness will be cherished by all who knew him.
