Obituary

Carmen Virginia Guerra (71) of Brockton passed away peacefully at home on September 8, 2026.

Born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Pedro Guerra and Isabel Rivera. Carmen worked as a nurse in her native Puerto Rico, dedicating herself to caring for others. She enjoyed reading, listening to music, and especially doing arts and crafts with her grandchildren.

Carmen will be remembered as an intelligent and wise woman who possessed tremendous strength and determination. She could certainly be stubborn at times, but beneath it all was a deeply loving and caring heart. Above all, she treasured her family and the time she spent with those she loved.

Carmen is survived by her son, Victor Guerra and his wife Laurie; her daughter, Mary Guerra and her husband Joseph Ricketts; three brothers, Pedro Guerra, Jose Guerra, and Louis Guerra; her sister, Milda Guerra; and seven grandchildren, Carey-Lee, Lace-Marie, Timothy, Rafael, Alisson, Theodore, and Victoria. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Viewing will be held in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street, Brockton, on Saturday, September 19th from 2:00–5:00 p.m. Cremation will follow.
