Eleanor I. (Benoit) Brennan, 87, of Worcester died Saturday, September 5th in Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Her husband of 39 years, Richard P. Brennan died in 2025; her daughter, Donna Valis of Worcester; stepson, Richard Brennan, Jr. of Sutton; stepdaughter, Diane Marie Strand and her husband, Paul of York Beach, ME; three grandchildren, Andrea Harmon, Paul Harmon, Jr., and his wife, Sarah, and James Valis and his wife, Lori and four great grandchildren, Daphne and Paul Harmon, III, and Elena and Jenna Valis. She was predeceased by a son, John Valis, Jr and stepson, Michael P. Brennan.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Francis and Lina (Roy) Benoit. Eleanor worked for UMass Memorial Medical Center for 29 years as a telecommunication supervisor. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting and cross-stitching, creating beautiful pieces with patience and care. She also enjoyed trips to the casino, where she could often be found trying her luck at the slot machines. Whether working on her latest craft or enjoying the excitement of the casino, she appreciated the simple pastimes that brought her happiness.
Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, is assisting the family with arrangements.
