Julia A. Anaya-Marquez (LYNN, MA), 60, passed away peacefully at home on September 2, 2026, surrounded by family and close friends. A woman of unwavering faith, remarkable strength, and a heart for serving others, Julia faced her illness as she lived her life—with courage, determination, and trust in the Lord.
Born on September 12, 1965, Julia was the daughter of the late David A. and VeAnn C. Campbell. A graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1984, she further pursued her education at Salem State College and Middlebury College and began her professional life as a bilingual teacher. Although her time in the classroom was brief, teaching and caring for others would remain a common thread throughout her life.
When her children were young, Julia made the decision to become a caregiver for handicapped adults in her home, allowing her to continue helping others while also being present for her children as they grew up. It was a reflection of who Julia was: compassionate, selfless, hardworking, and deeply devoted to her family.
Julia later became the Director of Harvest of Hope Used Furniture, where her desire to serve people and her community continued to guide her work. For the final 11 years of her career, she proudly worked for the United States Postal Service.
Above all else, Julia was a woman of deep Christian faith. She was a devoted member of Great Rock Church in Danvers, MA, and lived her life for the Lord. Her Bible was not simply something she read; her faith shaped the way she lived, loved, served, and faced life’s greatest challenges.
Julia found happiness in life’s simple and meaningful moments. She loved attending farmstands during harvest seasons, cooking and collecting recipes, discussing current events, long rides, reading The Bible and sharing her faith and most of all, spending time with her family. Whether gathered around a table, sharing a meal, trying a new recipe, or simply enjoying time together, family was at the center of Julia’s life.
Julia leaves behind her husband, Martin Anaya-Marquez;her three children Hogan Donahue of Hermitage, TN, Marshall Donahue of Lynn, MA, and Talya Reyes of Lynn, MA; the father of her three children, Kenneth R. Donahue of Standish, ME;and her cherished grandson, Joel Heredia.
She is also survived by her sister, Linda A. MacDonald of Salem, MA; her brother, Peter E. Campbell and his wife, Evelyn, of Peabody, MA; and her nieces and nephews, Jared S. Standley of Salem, MA; Matthew R. Standley and his wife, Kelly, of Greenland, NH; Kateri Estano and her husband, Patrick, of Kissimmee, FL; and members of the Campbell Family, Chiara, Joshua, Cecilia, Zelie, Veronica, Jacob, and Bridget, all of Peabody, MA.
Julia was predeceased by her parents, Davidand VeAnnCampbell, and her sister, Anna B. Cauble, wife of Benjamin Cauble.
Those who knew Julia will remember far more than the positions she held or the places she worked. They will remember a woman who loved fiercely, cared deeply, worked hard, and gave generously of herself. They will remember her devotion to her children and family, her willingness to care for those who needed her, and a faith that remained steadfast even during the most difficult days of her life.
Julia’s absence will be deeply felt by her husband, children, grandson, siblings, nieces, nephews, church family, friendsand the many people whose lives were touched by her kindness and care.
Her family will carry forward the lessons she lived every day: love your family, serve others, remain strong through adversity, treasure the simple moments, and above all, keep your faith.
