LIMERICK- Donald Keith Wass, age 90, passed peacefully on August 31, 2026, at his home in Limerick.
He was born in South Portland, Maine on July 16th, 1936, the son of Willis and Elizabeth (Wetmore) Wass. Donald grew up in South Portland and graduated from South Portland High School. Following graduation, he joined the Air Force and served for 4 years.
In 1960, Donald graduated from Bentley College and began his career working for himself, in Accounting. He enjoyed working for himself throughout the years, allowing him to have time to enjoy life; Donald remained involved in athletics his entire life. He loved playing tennis, golf and pickleball well into his later years. In 1983 he married the love of his life, Cindy.
He is predeceased by his parents Willis and Elizabeth Wass, his sister Barbara Jean Collins and his beloved son, Brian Keith Wass of South Portland.
Donald is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Simonse) Wass; his children- Dawn Marie Wass of Westbrook, his son Robert Sheldon and his wife Tamara of Limerick and Shane's father Barry Griffith. Also his grandchildren- Shane Donald Griffith and wife Whitney of Freeport; Kelsey Sheldon Talbot and husband Cody of Limington and RJ Sheldon and wife Lauren of Sebago, and his great grandchildren- Nora Madeline and Cooper Brian Griffith and Wyatt Sheldon Talbot.
At a later date, Donald’s family will have a private gathering in celebration of his life.
