Violet Marie Hyde Conger, 89, of Jackson, Michigan, formerly of Enigma, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2026, in Jackson, Mi.
Born April 16, 1937, in Flushing Township, Michigan, Mrs. Conger was the daughter of the late Eugene Hyde and Gladys Nicklas Hyde. Mrs. Conger was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wilburn Conger; As well as her three children Jerry Conger, Valerie Smith and Deborah Kay Conger; in addition to her three brothers, Clyde Hyde, Donald Hyde and Butch Hyde. Mrs. Conger was strong in her faith and was deeply devoted to her family and loved ones. She was a member of New Griffin Baptist Church.
Mrs. Conger is survived by her daughter-in-law, Kathleen Conger; her grandchildren and their spouses, Melissa (Aric) Piercey, Willard “Will” Jr.(Alaina) Smith and William “Andy” Conger; her great-granddaughters, Faith Smith, Emma Smith, Payton Morris and Lexie Morris; and two sister-in-laws, Lela Jane Wells and Joy Conger.
Her funeral service will be held at 11am September 8th, 2026, at Oakey Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Garvie Nichols officiating. Mrs. Conger will be laid to rest at Oakey Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Berrien County. The family will receive friends on September 8th, 2026 at Oakey Grove Missionary Baptist Church from 10am-11am.
