
Lorraine C. Arnold

Lorraine Arnold, formerly of Merrimack and Moultonborough, NH, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026 in Manchester, NH. Born in Manchester, NH on August 24, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Rene A. Paradis and Rose (Lamy) Paradis of Manchester, NH. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Paul Arnold, Sr; her brother, Roger Paradis of Bedford, NH; her sister, Georgette Lein of Pittsfield, MA; her sister, Theresa Pramis of Manchester, NH; and her daughter-in-law, Colette (Prud’homme) Arnold of Bedford, NH. Lorraine was a collateral descendant of Saint Marie-Léonie Paradis of Quebec.
After graduating from St Joseph's High School in Manchester, Lorraine attended Hesser College in Manchester where she earned an Associate Degree in business. After marrying Paul Sr. in 1961, they lived in Manchester, NH, Fayetteville, SC, and Portland, ME. After a decade, they settled in Merrimack, NH where they focused on raising their three children and later founded an insurance brokerage. Lorraine also enjoyed a long career working as an administrative assistant and officer manager for medical and dental practices. In retirement, she dedicated herself to her grandchildren and built a retirement home with Paul Sr. in Moultonborough, NH.
Lorraine enjoyed gatherings with family and friends, her grandchildren’s sporting events, tennis, pickleball, traveling, fashion, and swimming and boating on Lake Winnipesaukee. She also displayed wonderful artistic talent with over a hundred watercolors in the last five years of her life.
Lorraine leaves behind three children and six grandchildren, including her daughter, Lisa Arnold and husband, Mark Amundsen; her son, Paul Arnold, Jr. and partner, Laura; her daughter, Lynne Burton and husband, Quinton; and her grandchildren, including Theresa Amundsen and partner, Levi Walker; Jordan KillKelley and partner, J.D. Van Rossum; Nathan Amundsen and fiancé, Molly Carrara; Tyler Burton; Grant Arnold; and Nolan Arnold. In her final years, Lorraine also delighted in her great grandchildren, Cavan and Lyra.
The family would like to thank the Methuen Village Assisted Living family for their extraordinary care for many years; and Mount Carmel Rehabilitation & Nursing Center's nurses and healthcare givers who took care of Lorraine with kindness and compassion during her final months.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, from 9:30 to 10:30 am at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Rd, Bedford, NH, which will be immediately followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10:30 am. Committal prayers will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Road, Manchester, NH.
