Richard A. Zagranski, age 86, passed away on August 11, 2026 at the Pioneer Valley Health and Rehab Center. He was born on August 9, 1940 in Springfield, Ma, son of the late Alexander and Julia (Srodulski) Zagranski. He was a communicant of St Ann’s Parish and achieved a Master’s degree from UMass. Richard worked as a teacher in South Hadley for over 40 years before he retired. He loved to travel, enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and always taking the road less traveled. He is survived by his wife Marlene (Jachym) Zagranski of Chicopee; one son, Richard M. Zagranski of Shirley, Ma; one daughter, Kristen Zagranski of Creede, CO and his close friends, Stanley and Nancy Pajak of Chicopee. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 11:00 AM in St Michael’s Mausoleum, Springfield. The Grise Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
