Betty Loraine Aque, affectionately called Lorry by her husband and those closest to her, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, at Winship Cancer Institute in Atlanta, Georgia. A funeral service will be held for Lorry on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Bowen- Donaldson Home for Funerals. The family will receive friends and guests in the chapel of Bowen- Donaldson from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service. Lorry will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery following the service. Lorry’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Born on April 21, 1945, in Brookfield, Georgia to William Leonard Willett and Fannie Mae Webb Willett, Lorry maintained a lifelong faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and a deep love for her family.
Lorry was the devoted wife of Rayno Aque, to whom she had been married for 53 years. After twenty years living as a traveling Navy wife, she and her husband eventually settled in Ocilla, Georgia. She was the proud mother of five children, all of whom survive her. Gina (Mark) Wood of Valdosta, Georgia; Ronnie (Lori) Griner of Nashville, Georgia; Raquel (Austin) England of Thomasville, Georgia; Ricky Aque of Ocilla, Georgia; and Jessica Aque of Chula, Georgia.
She was the cherished Mema to eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Kayla (Jon) Britt and children Odin, Rowan, and Mattie of Dalzell, South Carolina; Kory Weitala and his son Kai of Cle Elum, Washington; Joey Griner and his children Kendyll, Kyson, Kellianne, and Walker of Nashville, Georgia; Jeron Griner of Nashville Georgia; Lee Griner of Atlanta, Georgia; Lori (Nick) Harrell and children Maggie and Malachi of Valdosta, Georgia; Ayden Aque, Audrey England, and Anderson England of Thomasville, Georgia; and Braxton Bedgood and Skylar Bedgood of Chula, Georgia.
Lorry’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A longtime host of family holidays and gatherings, Lorry was happiest when surrounded by those she loved. She will long be remembered for her unwavering faith in God, her love of singing, and her dedication to her family.
She was welcomed into Heaven by her parents; sisters Jenny Kennedy, Jean Bridges, and Etheleane Smith; nephew Charles Sadler; and daughter-in-law Maggie Griner.
