SOUTH HADLEY – Janet C. Perreault, 78, a longtime resident of Pioneer Valley Health and Rehabilitation in South Hadley and a former longtime resident of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, August 8, 2026. She passed into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by all the memories that she loved and cherished. She was born in Holyoke on September 7, 1947, the beloved daughter of the late John A. and Wilfreda C. (Bousquet) Perreault. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High School in 1966 and had lived in Fairview for many years. She was employed for 26 years at the former American Electric Cable Company in Chicopee. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. During her leisure time, she enjoyed trying her luck at bingo, reading, knitting, watching car races and cheering on her favorite wrestlers. She leaves her nephews and nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces, extended family members and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving brother and sister-in-law, Norman J. Perreault who was Called Home on September 23, 2016 and his wife, Nancy E. (Jones) Perreault who was Called Home on January 8, 2008. Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307) 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman Street, South Hadley, MA 01075. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to her Mass. The funeral home parking lot is located in the rear.
