Malcolm H. Haskins, age 96, of Norton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, August 13, 2026. He was the beloved husband of the late June A. (Wentzell) Haskins, to whom he was happily wed for sixty-eight years at the time of her death on January 27, 2020.
Born in West Bridgewater, MA on September 9, 1929, he was a loving son of the late Malcolm H. and Zilpha (Mills) Haskins.
Mal grew up in his hometown of West Bridgewater and was a graduate of Howard High School in West Bridgewater. He continued his studies, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy.
Well-known and respected in the Norton community, Mr. Haskins was the founder and successfully ran, along with the help of his family, Haskins Pharmacy a former Norton landmark on West Main Street in Norton from 1956-2014.
A resident of Norton for the past seventy years, Mal was a longtime active member of the Trinitarian Congregational Church, serving in many capacities including as a Deacon of the church, on the finance and standing committee and as a member of the church Men’s Club. He was also a former member of the Norton Lions Club and a former member of the Board of Directors at the Mansfield Cooperative Bank.
Mal’s adoring family was the essence and focal point of his life. He occasionally played golf and his hobbies included fishing and bird watching. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was the devoted father of Mark D. Haskins of Upton and Mark’s former wife Carol Prost, Melanie E. Haskins of South Easton and Melanie’s late husband Jim Stewart, who recently passed away on May 24, 2026 and the late Lynne A. Haskins, who recently passed away on April 1, 2026 and Lynne’s late husband Bruce Stanz. He was the cherished grandfather of Joshua Stewart and Zachary Stewart, both of South Easton He was the dear brother of the late Richard Haskins and is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a service in celebration of his life on a date and time to be announced at the Trinitarian Congregational Church, East Main and Pine Streets in Norton. Burial will be private.
