Obituary

CORNISH- Harry James Nigro, age 95, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, at his home on Towles Hill Road in Cornish, ME in the care of his daughter Kyle (Nigro) Matturro and grandson Patrick Nethercott.
Devoted husband to Joyce Pike of Highland Farms who predeceased him on December 8, 2007 after 47 years of marriage.
He was predeceased by his daughter Karen Nethercott who passed away on March 11, 2024.
He was born in Bridgeport Connecticut on April 17, 1931, the son of Joseph and Concetta Nigro.
Harry served in the United States Navy aboard the USS D.H. Fox during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from the University of Bridgeport with degrees in English and Journalism.
Harry had an amazing work career, having worked as an executive for CBS and the United States Postal Service. His passion however was working years as a Broadway Press Agent in Manhattan, New York and he was a member of The Screen Actors Guild.
Harry most enjoyed the many family gatherings with his grandchildren, extended grandchildren, family and friends, whether at his home on the Farm or with his cousins and family in Queens, NY
Harry, affectionately known as Nanno, is survived by his daughter, Kyle (Nigro) Matturro, Grandchildren, Patrick Nethercott, Brenna Matturro, Allaire Matturro, Caelyn Joyce Matturro and a loving family of numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
