WEBSTER – Mary Irene (Lagace) Jankowski, 82, died Sunday, August 9, 2026 in the presence of her family.
She leaves her husband of 34 years, Raymond P. Jankowski, Sr.; a daughter, Lisa Huard of Harlingen, TX; 3 sons, Robert Hubert and his wife Mary of Thompson, CT, Alexander Beaudette and his companion Judy of Webster, and Arthur “Chip” Hubert of Dudley; a stepson, Raymond P. Jankowski, Jr. and his husband John Jankowski of Webster; 4 stepdaughters, Barbara A. Pleau and her husband Robert, and Sherry Picard and her husband Kevin, all of Webster, Lorraine Lewandowski of Wales, MA, and Renee Hubert of Arundel, ME; 18 grandchildren, Brandon Pleau, Felicia Pleau, Alyssa Ledogar and her husband Edwin, Nichole Deschamps and her husband Jacob, Joseph Hubert, Archer Hubert, Adrianna Hubert and Angel Bisson, Veronica Houck, Shauna Hubert, Edward Marlbrough, Jr., April Marlbrough, Eric Lewandowski, Darcie Lewandowski, Justina Hilman, Alexis Hilman, and Kayla Hilman; many great-grandchildren including, Annabelle and Kinsley Pleau, Otelia, Adelaide and Odin Ledogar, and Emalise and Chloe Deschamps; a brother, Maurice Beaudet of Boston; a half-brother, Francis Beaudet of Des Moines, Iowa; a brother-in-law, Victor Jankowski and his wife Helen of Webster; a sister-in-law, Sally Madura of Southbridge; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her step-father Alexander Beaudet, brother Albert Lagace and by her grandson Stephan Polk.
She was born on April 28, 1944 in Altamont, NY, a daughter of Charles Y. and Adeline M. (Chession) Lagace. She lived in Fitchburg before moving to Webster in the 1980’s.
Mrs. Jankowski first worked at Brown Shoe in Worcester and then at B & W Footwear Company. She also worked as a matron for the Webster Police Department, and finally, she was an inspector at Cranston Print Works Company for over 20 years before her retirement in 2009.
She was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica. She enjoyed camping trips, quilting and sewing, and playing bingo. Her family was her treasure.
The family would like to thank the staff at VNA Hospice for their kind and attentive care for Mary Irene during her illness.
