Bobby Carlton Weldon, 81, of Tifton passed away Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Union Church in Eldorado with the Rev. Todd Garner and the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. A eulogy will be given by Danny Taylor. Bobby will be laid to rest at Union Church Cemetery in Eldorado. The family will receive friends at Union Church in Eldorado on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Bobby’s grandsons, Thad Weldon, Jase Weldon, Ean Weldon and Dexter Weldon; his grandsons-in-law, Jared Hamilton and Victor Santos, as well as Danny Taylor will serve as pallbearers.
Bobby was born on July 21, 1945, in Tift County, and he was the son of the late Willie Frank Weldon and Ruby “Inez” Stone Weldon. He was the owner and operator of Weldon Electric in Tifton; and he was a member of Union Church in Eldorado.
Bobby was known for his outgoing personality and his love for his family. One of the ways this love was shown was by attending all the sports activities that his grandkids were involved in. In his spare time, he loved to hunt and fish. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Faye Taylor Weldon of Tifton; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Vince and Tamelia Weldon, Robby and Leigh Weldon and Derick Weldon, all of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Gina Weldon-Sewell and her husband Darrin of Tifton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Martha Weldon and Michael and Glenda Weldon, all of Brookfield; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Shirley Manaugh of Brookfield, Diane and Ted Bennett of Florida and Patsy and Dennis Griffin of Sumner; six grandchildren and their spouses, Aubrey and Jared Hamilton, Laina and Victor Santos, Thad Weldon, Jase Weldon, Ean Weldon and Dexter Weldon; and three great-grandchildren, Paisley Hamilton, Jones Hamilton and Hattie Hamilton.
