In Loving Memory of Haig Michael Soghigian, Jr.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Haig Michael Soghigian, Jr., who passed away on August 1, 2026, at the age of 82. He was a deeply devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. While we grieve the loss of someone so deeply loved, we are grateful for a life that was rich in love, purpose, and meaningful relationships.
Haig was born on December 30, 1943 in Lynn, MA to Haig Michael Soghigian, Sr., and Anna Malkasian Soghigian. As the son of an Armenian Genocide survivor and a proud first-generation Armenian American, Haig grew up with a profound understanding of both hardship and hope. The strength and perseverance of his family’s journey shaped his character, instilling in him a sense of gratitude, an unwavering work ethic, and a commitment to building a better life for those who would follow. He was proud of his Armenian heritage, and the lessons passed down through his family became the foundation of the life he built.
Haig graduated from Lynn English High School and received a B.S. in Mathematics from UMass Amherst. He went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1972 as a First Lieutenant in Missile Defense, stationed in Germersheim, Germany. After his time with the Army, Haig began what would become a long career in law enforcement. As a criminal investigator for the United States Department of Treasury, U.S. Customs Service, Haig worked with the member agencies and the various U.S. Attorneys’ Offices in New England. As part of the Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Division, he participated in investigations that resulted in significant drug and money-laundering convictions. After his retirement from the U.S. government, Haig worked as Vice President of Corporate Security at Fidelity Investments, where he continued his career of diligent investigative work.
One of his greatest blessings was marrying the love of his life, Patricia Dabney Roversi on July 25, 1971. Together they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, resilience, and unconditional love, raising a family and creating countless memories that will be cherished for generations. Through life’s celebrations and challenges, they remained each other’s greatest source of strength, sharing a partnership that was admired by all who knew them.
Family was the center of Haig’s life. He found the greatest happiness in raising a family, spending time with grandchildren, gathering for holidays, cheering on loved ones, debating politics, and, of course, golfing. Among his greatest joys was watching his grandchildren grow and finding ways to share in their lives. Through rounds of golf together, he passed down not only his love of the game, but also patience, perseverance, and the importance of swinging easy! He could often be found on the sidelines of their games or in the audience at recitals. His presence was a constant reminder of how deeply he loved and supported his grandchildren.
Those who knew Haig will remember him not only for what he accomplished, but for who he was. He had a gift for listening, making people laugh, offering encouragement, and telling stories.
Haig is survived by Patricia, his beloved wife of 55 years; his daughter Lisa Charchaflian and her husband Pierre; his son Haig Robert Soghigian and his wife Diane; his grandchildren Joseph, Sam, and Jack Charchaflian and Ava, Carmen, Ryan, and Reese Soghigian; his sister Barbara Soghigian; and many treasured friends.
Funeral service at Holy Trinity Armenian Church, 145 Brattle Street, Cambridge, MA on Wednesday, August 12 at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at church on Wednesday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., immediately prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn, Massachusetts.
