Barry Edwin Fillip, 58, of Rochester, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
He was the former husband of Connie Fillip (DeOliveira). Barry was born in Fall River, MA, and was the son of Diane Lizotte (Roy) of Wareham, MA. He was a lifelong resident of Rochester, MA.
Barry worked for many years as an accountant. Earlier in his life, he enjoyed fishing and lobstering throughout New England. He cherished his many years on the water.
At home, he enjoyed the companionship of his beloved cat, Mr. Ed, who was never far from his side. Barry found happiness in life's simplest pleasures. He will forever be remembered for his love of the ocean, his family, and the time he spent at Our Lady's Chapel in New Bedford, MA.
Barry is survived by his daughter, Kelsey Demasi (Fillip), and her husband, Eric Demasi; his daughter, Kendra Fillip, and her fiancé, Nicholas Sheehan. He also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Our Lady's Chapel in New Bedford, MA.
A private celebration of Barry's life will be held for his family at Our Lady’s Chapel, 600 Pleasant St, New Bedford, MA 02740.
