Lucy H. (Morley), age 89, a resident of Attleboro for over fifty-five years, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at the Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late David E. Clarke, to whom she was wed for thirty-nine years at the time of his death June 6, 2004.
Born in Manchester, Massachusetts, she was a loving daughter of the late Edward and Alice (Danskin) Morley. Lucy grew up in Manchester and was a graduate of the Abbot Academy in Andover. She continued her education, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography from McGill University. Prior to retiring, Mrs. Clarke had been employed as a City Planner for the City of Pawtucket. She had also served as a substitute teacher for the City of Attleboro. She enjoyed spending time amongst family and her hobbies included craft work and painting. She is survived by her devoted stepchildren, Daniel A. Clarke and his wife Roberta of Norton, Michael E. Clarke and his wife Roxanne of Norton, David B. Clarke and his wife Julie of North Scituate, RI and Debra J. Kennedy and her husband Stephen of Norton. She was the dear sister of Margaret Scott and her husband Henry of Portland, Maine and the late Alice Clark. She is also survived by her cherished 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, as well as her loving nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Alexandra. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend her funeral service at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton on a day and time to be announced. Burial will follow at the Norton Common Cemetery in Norton. Visiting hours are omitted and in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
