It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Paul Edward Colucci on August 2, 2026, at the age of 83.
Paul's greatest blessing was sharing his life with his beloved wife, Kathryn Colucci. Their love was the foundation of their family and a source of strength and joy throughout their years together. Though Kathy passed away before him, those who loved them both find peace in knowing they are together again.
Together, they built a loving family with their three children, Alison, Tina, and Adam, who were the pride and joy of their lives. Paul was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose greatest happiness came from simply being surrounded by the people he loved. Known simply as Pappi to his six grandchildren, he treasured every opportunity to watch them grow.
East Beach became the family's gathering place, where traditions were made and memories were created year after year. Holidays, summer afternoons at the beach, birthdays, and countless family gatherings brought everyone together. It was there that Paul enjoyed some of life's simplest pleasures, including visits from "Jack," the seagull he had befriended over the years, who became a familiar part of the family's beach memories.
One of Pappi's greatest joys was playing cards with his grandchildren. He started teaching them at a young age, helping them learn to count while creating memories they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. No visit was complete without a special treat, whether it was Tic Tacs, Almond Joys, Kit Kats, or Twix bars. It was a simple tradition that became one of the many ways his grandchildren knew they were loved.
Paul had a quiet strength that carried him through life's challenges. One of his favorite sayings was, "When the going gets tough, the tough get going." It was a reminder to keep moving forward, no matter what life brought his way.
Born to Albert Coluci and Catherine Waner Coluci, Paul was raised in Arlington, Massachusetts. It was there that he met Kathy, his high school sweetheart, beginning a love story that would last a lifetime. They were married in 1967 and built a life together centered on love, family, and unwavering devotion to one another.
As he became part of the Sharp family, Hubert "Bud" Sharp and Kathryn Sharp welcomed Paul as one of their own. Their love and support became an important part of his life, and they remained a close and cherished part of his family throughout the years.
For more than 30 years, Paul proudly owned and operated Metaplastics alongside his brother-in-law, Martin Stauss. Together they built a respected business through hard work, integrity, and a commitment to doing things the right way.
Paul's greatest joy was watching his family grow. He is lovingly remembered by his children and their families: Alison and Steve McIsaac of Stow, Massachusetts, and their children, Thora and Zenna McIsaac; Tina and Scott DeVivo of Newburyport, Massachusetts, and their children, Jackson and Isla DeVivo; and Adam and Kara Colucci of Dartmouth, Massachusetts, and their children, Addison and Amelia Colucci.
He is also survived by his loving siblings, Warner Coluci, Donna Stauss, and Bob Coluci; his brother-in-law, Robert Sharp; his sister-in-law, Tamsin Zimbone; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Christina "Chris" Sharp, whose memory remained an important part of the Sharp family.
Paul was especially grateful for the friendship of Ronnie Small. More than a longtime friend, Ronnie was a constant source of support and companionship, particularly over the last 5 years since Kathy's passing. Their daily conversations became an important part of Paul's life. They were always there for each other.
Paul will be remembered for the love he shared so freely, the values he lived by, and the joy he found in bringing his family together. Paul will be deeply missed, but his love, his traditions, and the memories he created will remain with his family forever.
