Obituary

HOLLIS- Stephen B. Davichick, age 88, passed away peacefully on July 16th, 2026, in Hollis, Maine.

Born in Boston on January 4, 1938, to Joseph and Stephanie Davichick, Stephen grew up in Arlington, Massachusetts and attended Rindge Technical School. On June 20, 1970, he married the love of his life, Mary E. (Staples) Davichick, beginning a devoted partnership that lasted more than five decades.

Stephen spent his career with W.R. Grace Chemical Manufacturing on the South Shore of Massachusetts. He was also a proud and active member of the Knights of Columbus in Arlington, where he formed lifelong friendships.

Fishing was Stephen’s greatest joy, a pastime he shared with his father from childhood through adulthood. His happiest days were spent at the family cottage on Pequawket Lake in Limington, where he found peace, laughter, and the simple beauty of nature.

Stephen is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Stephanie Davichick; his sister, Francis KilFoil of Ayer, Massachusetts; and his sister-in-law, Patricia Wood of Buxton, Maine.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary E. Davichick, and his daughter, Patricia Davichick of Massachusetts. He is also lovingly survived by his granddaughter Kristina Wood, nephews Michael Wood of Nee Hampshire and James Wood of Hollis, his niece Dawn DuDeVoire-Wood, and his grandsons Levi and Canaan Wood of Hollis, who brought him great pride and joy.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday Aug. 11th at 11 AM at St. Matthews in Limerick, Maine. A reception will follow downstairs in the church hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stephen’s name to Let’s End Alzheimer’s – The Alzheimer’s Association.
