Obituary

WEBSTER - Robert A. “Bubba” Gayewski, Sr, 71, passed away Tuesday, July 28 in UMass Medical Center in Worcester after a hard fought battle with cancer.

He leaves his wife of 50 years, Lisa M. (Patrowicz) Gayewski; 2 sons, Robert A. Gayewski, Jr. and his wife Aria Ward of Wiscasset, Maine and Jacob A. Gayewski and his wife Katherine Piculell of Somerville; a brother, Richard Gayewski, Jr. and his wife Stephanie of Pensacola, Florida; he was a proud “Pup” to his 4 grandchildren, Noah Fleming-Gayewski, Rylee Burns, Molly Ward, Kaycee Gayewski; a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Burns of Dudley. He was preceded in death by his son Nicholaus A. Gayewski in 2014, a grandson Josef Gayewski in 2008 and by his two sisters Carol Figueroa and Lynne Gayewski.

He was born on January 18, 1955 in Webster a son of the Richard Gayewski, Sr. and Ellen (Belanger) Gayewski and attended Bartlett High School.

Mr. Gayewski worked as a construction supervisor at Cutler Associates in Worcester for 40 years and then worked at RP Masiello in Boylston, retiring in 2024.

Bubba was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed every season of the outdoor sportsman calendar, whether he was with his dog, Yogi, his son, Nick, with friends or alone. He enjoyed life to the fullest and was one of the strongest men we had to privilege to know.

His funeral will held on Thursday, August 6 with a Mass at 10:00 AM Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street (please meet at church). Burial will follow in Saint Anthony Cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted and instead donations in his memory be made to Why Me & Sherry’s House, 152 Pleasant St, Worcester, MA 01602.
