Obituary

Carlos Manuel Lara, 44, of Omega passed away Sunday, July 26, 2026, at his residence. A funeral service will be held for Mr. Lara on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Bowen- Donaldson Home for Funerals with Father Paul O’ Connell officiating. Mr. Lara will be laid to rest at Omega Cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends and guests in the chapel of Bowen- Donaldson from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.

Jorge Medrano, Alejo Leon, Alex Raya, Bart Acosta, Ivan Raya, Scooter Franklin, and Fernando Plaza will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Lara was born on November 12, 1981, to Ana Lara in Pierdas, Negras Mexico. He was always a happy high-spirited person. He loved dancing to his cumbia music and singing. He was always the life of the party. He never failed to ensure that the lawn was as clean as possible, as he loved being outside. He loved to spend time playing baseball with both of his sons and grandson and attending tournaments with them and his daughter. He rallied for every Atlanta sport’s team.

Carlos will be remembered by his friends and family as a good man who was willing to fix anything, a great father, husband, and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Lara is survived by his wife; Vickie Lara, two sons; Carlos Lara Jr., and Jordan Lara, one daughter; Victoria Lara, one grandson; Brandon Noel all of Omega, and numerous brothers and sisters.
