Robert A. Andrade, 83, of Westport, passed away peacefully at home following a long battle with Parkinson's Disease on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 with his family. He was the husband of Leona E. (Durfee) Andrade, they shared 63 years of marriage.
Mr. Andrade was born in New Bedford, son of the late Albert and Hilda (Sylvain) Andrade and had resided in Westport since 1971. Bob's career included working as a field engineer for NCR (National Cash Register) and a technician for Shaw's Supermarket. Bob loved spending time with his family, riding his bicycle around Westport and surrounding towns, staying active, and caring for his animals.
Survivors along with his wife include his son: Albert Andrade (wife Colleen). His two daughters: Katherine Clohessy and Valerie Higgins (husband Geoffrey). His sister Hazel Johnson. His grandson Samuel Andrade (wife Lauren) and their daughter Georgia Grace. He is also survived by his nephew Richard Johnson (wife Louise).
He was the uncle of the late Steven Johnson.
The Family wishes to extend their gratitude to Nurse Patty and the entire care team at Community Nurse as well as his long-term caregivers, Nina and Maria for the compassionate care they gave to Mr. Andrade.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
