John M. DiGloria, Sr., age 87, of Norton, formerly of Hyde Park, Roslindale and Dorchester, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Cathi Charlton.
Born in East Boston, MA on September 12, 1938, he was a loving son of the late Samuel and Florence (Liacona) DiGloria. John spent his early childhood living in East Boston. His family later moved to Dorchester, where he grew and was educated. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy and was honorably discharged on July 2, 1959 with the rank of SN. Throughout his working career, John worked hard as a self-employed business owner. He owned a private ATM company, a private payphone company and was also a former property owner. A resident of Norton for the past sixteen years, John’s family was the focal point of his life. When younger, he enjoyed playing darts and attending family gatherings. A true handyman who could fix just about anything, John will always be remembered for his remarkable sense of humor, which never stopped and his non-judgmental nature towards others. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted children, Donna Skiba of Stoughton, John DiGloria, Jr. of Vermont, Karen DiGloria of Lakeville, Julie Rindler of Ohio, Stephen DiGloria of Stoughton, Loreen Charlton of Norton and Larissa Dewar of Norton. He was the dear brother of Frank DiGloria of Florida and the late Joseph DiGloria, Marie Catalano and Richard DiGloria. He is also survived by his loving multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a celebration of life service on Thursday, August 6th from 11:30 A.M.-3:30 P.M. at the Chateau Restaurant, 48 Bay Road in Norton.
