Charles Arthur Hiers, 60 of Valdosta passed away Sunday, July 26, 2026, at his residence. A private funeral service and burial will be held for Mr. Hiers at a later date.
Born April 13, 1966, in Fort Myers, Florida, Mr. Hiers was the son of the late William Fred Hiers, Sr. and Mahaley Zelley Purvis Hiers. Before becoming disabled, he was a heavy equipment operator for Reeves Construction Company; and he was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Hiers was a family man who loved his family deeply and was considered the “favorite uncle” by his nieces and nephews. In his spare time, he loved to fish.
Mr. Hiers is survived by his wife, Sherrie Cleary Hiers of Valdosta; one son, Brandon glen Hiers of Valdosta; two daughters, April Arzetta Hiers of Valdosta and Cristal Ann Hiers of Tifton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, William F. Jr. and Pam Hiers and Greg P. and Irma Hiers; two sisters, Vickie L. Hiers and Patricia L. Montoya; five grandchildren, Karter Wade, Louie Hiers, Lily Hiers, Wendell Hughes and Oliver Chapman; and several nieces and nephews.
