Tania C. (Sousa) Cordeiro, 47, of Westport, peacefully passed away at home on Monday, July 27, 2026 with her loving family by her side.
She was the wife of Miguel A. Cordeiro, they shared 29 years of marriage.
Mrs. Cordeiro was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, daughter of Fatima (Pacheco) Sousa of Fall River and the late Joao C. DeSousa. She had resided in Westport for the last 24 years. She was a communicant of Good Shepherd Parish, Fall River.
Survivors along with her husband and mother include her children: the late Christopher Cordeiro who passed away on the same day 28 years ago, Sabrina Acevedo and her husband Christian, granddaughter Julianna Acevedo, Tara Cordeiro and her fiancé Collin Aguiar, Sean Cordeiro and Mya Cordeiro, all of Westport; 2 brothers: Ricardo Sousa and Bruno Sousa, both of Fall River; 2 sisters: Susana Cabral of Dartmouth and Patricia Afonso of Swansea, along with many nieces and nephews.
Above all else, her greatest joy in life was her family, her kids and her husband who were her pride and joy. Being a mother was the role she cherished most, and her children were, without question, her proudest accomplishment. She poured her heart into raising them with unconditional love, unwavering strength, and endless selflessness. Every decision she made was rooted in wanting the very best for those she loved.
She was the greatest blessing to our family, our safest place, and the heart of our family. Her love was the kind that never asked for anything in return, and never let us doubt how deeply we were loved and cherished. We will spend the rest of our life’s being grateful that God placed her in ours.
