
Theresa A. “ Terry” Martin, 82, of Westport, MA passed away peacefully at Hopehealth Hulitar Hospice Center, in Providence Rhode Island on July 26th, 2026.
Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, Theresa was the beloved daughter of Manuel and Isabel Mello. She shared 50 years of marriage with her devoted husband, George Martin in Westport, MA. George preceded her in death.
Terry was the loving mother of her only child, Christine Munro who lives in Westport with her husband Russ Paul. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Morgann Lili Munro of Westport, Scott Raymond Munro and his wife Noelle of Ellenton, Florida, and Benjamin Alexander Munro, of Somerset, MA. She was also blessed with one great-granddaughter Evelyn Jeanne Munro.
She is survived by siblings John Mello and Marilyn Simons, and was predeceased by her brothers Raymond Mello and Melvin Mello. She also is survived by many nieces, nephews, and God children.
Terry dedicated many years of service as bakery manager for Shaws Supermarkets, where her strong work ethic and warm personality were appreciated by coworkers and customers.
She found happiness in the simple things that made life special. She enjoyed her dogs, feeding the birds, and watching classic movies with her dear friend Tom. She was well known among family and friends for making an unforgettable Manhattan clam chowder that was a family favorite.
A devoted member of her community, Terry served as a Camp Fire leader and sang in the Our Lady of Grace Church choir. She treasured the years spent caring for her young grandchildren. She also enjoyed many happy outings to the casino with her beloved mother Isabel.
Those who knew Terry will remember her as someone who lived life on her own terms. She was independent, strong-willed, loving and deeply devoted to the people she cared about. Her legacy lives on through the family she loved so dearly and the countless memories she leaves behind.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:30 A.M.
Visitation will be Saturday at the Potter Funeral Home from 9-10 A.M. prior to the Mass.
Interment is private.
