Of Milton, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026 surrounded by her beloved family. She leaves behind a legacy of profound love, the most genuine kindness, and an absolutely unshakeable faith.
Born in October of 1934 to Moses and Koharig (Mesropian) Movsesian, she was raised in the Bradford section of Haverhill. The youngest of six, Lucy deeply cherished the wisdom of her beloved siblings, the late Roxie Shamlian, Elinor Tate, Anthony Movsesian, Albert Movsesian, and Nance Movsesian. An avid reader with a deep love of learning, Lucy was proud to have been a graduate of Haverhill High School (Class of 1952). She went on to further her education at the Chandler School of Business.
Crowned “Ms. Thanksgiving” at a church dance, Lucy was quite literally swept off her feet by her dashing soulmate, Ralph Talanian. They were lovingly devoted to each other in a marriage that lasted over fifty years, and were separated only by Ralph’s untimely passing in 2009.
A woman of many talents, Lucy was known for her great intellect and athleticism. An expert bridge and tennis player, Lucy found the most joy in her role as captain of her bowling team at the former Neighborhood Club of Quincy, where she was a longtime member. Outdoors, Lucy was known for her daily miles-long walks around town. A volunteer at heart, she greatly enjoyed her twenty-two years as a “friendly visitor” at Norwood Hospital
Family was at the core of Lucy’s very being. She is survived by her four loving children Bryan (Carol), Pam Talanian McGrath, Andrea Lindsey (Eric), Bruce, and her devoted son-inlaw and personal chef, James McGrath. Affectionately known as Medzie to her cherished grandchildren, Caroline McGrath, Olivia McGrath, Rachel (Clark) Demos, David (Alexandra) Talanian, Ani Talanian, Miles Lindsey, and Elias Lindsey. She was blessed to know that she would soon become a great-grandmother. Lucy is further survived by treasured nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral services on Friday, July 31 at 11:00 am. at St. James Armenian Apostolic Church, 465 Mt. Auburn Street, Watertown, MA 02472. Visiting hours will be held at church on Friday morning from 10:00- 11:00 am, immediately prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Lucy’s honor may be sent to St. James Armenian Apostolic Church, 465 Mt.
