It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Jean Gasbarro on July 15th, 2026, at the age of 76. After a prolonged illness, Linda passed peacefully at her home in Kittery, Maine, with her devoted husband of 58 years by her side.
Linda was born on January 7th, 1950, in Medford, Massachusetts, and will be remembered for her kindness, resilience and devotion to family. As a child, she was a dedicated dancer and fondly remembered her time spent at Arthur’s Pastry Shop, Schrafft Candy Company and Gilchrist. In later years, Linda was active in the community, and worked as a teacher's aide at Penn Brook Elementary School in Georgetown, Massachusetts.
A loving mother and wife, Linda created a home where everyone felt welcomed and was well fed. She enjoyed keeping up with current events, hosting the holidays with family, take-out from the Kowloon of Saugus and going to casinos with her sister Carol and sister-in-law Joanne. Linda was an avid Bruins and Patriots fan, and was known for baking chocolate chip cookies, “Nana” brownies and spoiling her grandchildren.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Victor Consolmagno and Lillian (Merchent) Consolmagno, her sisters Carol Campagna and Janet Sweeney, and sons-in-law Douglas Dubuque and David Stevens. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Gasbarro, Sr.; her children, Rachael Stevens of South Carolina, Renee Dubuque of New Hampshire, Joseph Gasbarro, Jr. and his wife, Teresa, of Maine, Jennifer Gasbarro of Massachusetts, and Paul Gasbarro and his wife, Jenni, of New Hampshire; and her brother, Robert Consolmagno of Massachusetts. Linda also leaves behind six grandchildren: Taylor, Jessica, Emma, Sonny, Miladia, and Ella, as well as two great-grandchildren: Luna and Tillie.
The family thanks Dr. Derek Lee of Appledore Family Practice, Danielle Jackson, Kate Flynn, Claudia Connelly-Watson, Beth Bynum, and Tonya Nollette of Beacon Hospice of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and caregivers Kelly Kennie, Lila Fiel, Ruby Kowdzis, and Sophie Ducharme, for their support and compassion.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 21st at 1:30 PM in Oak Grove Cemetery, 230 Playstead Rd., Medford, MA. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend and are encouraged to gather at the cemetery gate prior to 1:30 PM in order to join a procession to the grave. In lieu of flowers, Linda’s family kindly requests that expressions of sympathy be made through a donation to the charity of your choice in Linda Jean Gasbarro’s name. If you prefer, flowers may be sent to the Dello Russo Funeral Home, Medford, MA, and they will be brought to the cemetery.
