Obituary

North Oxford, MA – Carol A. (Hendrickson) Amell, 81, of North Oxford and formerly of Worcester, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026 in Saint Vincent Hospital after an illness.

Carol was predeceased by her longtime partner of 40 years, John McCormick as well as her second husband, Harry Amell and her first husband, Norman Estabrook.

She was born in Concord, MA, daughter of the late George and Mildred (Christensen) Hendrickson. Carol leaves behind her two sons, Ronald D. Estabrook of and Brian P. Estabrook, both of North Oxford; a daughter, Dawn F. Mills of Southbridge; a sister, Marilyn Shelton of Maine; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Carol also is predeceased by a son, Clayton A. Amell; a brother, Howard Hendrickson and a sister, Jean Balderas.

Carol worked many various jobs throughout her life, but her most recent position was tending bar at Barney Googles Restaurant. She loved to sit with family and friends for a good card game or a game of Mahjong, but she could often be found just sitting quietly and crocheting something for a friend or family member. Most of all Carol just enjoyed being able to spend time with those that she loved most, especially her family.
