James M. Bolia, age 77, of North Dartmouth, formerly of Middleborough, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

Born in Cambridge, MA on November 3, 1948, he was a loving son of the late William F. and Mary-Rosa (Mosley) Bolia.

Jim grew up in Cambridge. His family later moved to Middleborough, where he made his home for over fifty years, before living in North Dartmouth. He received a certificate in culinary arts and prior to retiring, spent the majority of his working career employed as a painter for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

A communicant of Sacred Heart Church: Isidore Parish in Middleborough, he was also a member of the Middleborough VFW Post #2188. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren and had a passion for food, especially showing off his exceptional cooking skills at joyful Sunday family dinners.

An avid and faithful New England sports fan, Jim enjoyed fishing, family trips to Disney World and the holidays, Christmas being his favorite one to celebrate. Jim will always be remembered by all who knew and loved him as a generous man with a big heart.

He is survived by his devoted children, James P. Bolia of Rochester and Megan M. Bodyul and her husband Alex of North Dartmouth. He was the cherished and proud grandfather of Owen A. Bodyul, Elliot A. Bodyul and Maya E. Bodyul. He was the dear brother of Mary-Rose Buote of Florida and the late William Bolia, Patrick Bolia, Thomas Bolia and Leonard Bolia.
