Obituary

George C. Fotiades, 87, of Worcester died Monday, July 6th surrounded by his loving family.
He leaves his daughter and caregiver, Melita Fotiades of Worcester; a brother, Adam C. Fotiades and his wife, Jerilyn of Whitinsville; two sisters, Demetra Leveillee and Deborah Milosh and her husband, Michael, all of Leicester; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Fotiades and nephew, Nicholas Fotiades.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Christos and Miriam (Kangas) Fotiades and graduated from Boys Trade. A devoted member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, George's faith remained an important part of his life.
George proudly served his country in the United States Army as a member of the Military Police Corps. During his honorable service, he earned the Good Conduct Medal, Sharpshooter Badge, and Marksman Badge, reflecting his dedication and commitment to his military service.
Following his time in the Army, George began a long and dedicated career with Star Dry Goods, where he worked as a warehouse manager and as a shipper and receiver. After working at Star Dry Goods, George worked as a warehouse supervisor and a shipper and receiver at Tristar Sportswear, retiring in 2008.
George found joy in life's simple pleasures. He never missed an episode of The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross, enjoyed watching horse races, and always looked forward to a game of Keno. More than anything, George will be remembered for his quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and kind heart. He had a gift for making people laugh and brought warmth and happiness to family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know him.
George's legacy of laughter, hard work, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family, faith, and country will forever be remembered and deeply missed.
Funeral services and burial were privately held. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester, assisted the family with arrangements.
