Obituary

In Loving Memory of Carmen Abeyllez Del Valle "'Giya"
It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Carmen Abeyllez Del Valle, 81, of Worcester died Saturday, July 11th at home surrounded by her loving family. She leaves her children, Edwin Ortiz of Worcester and Guillermo Rios of Worcester; four daughters, Claria Rosiario of Tampa, FL, Alexandra Delvalle of Worcester, Patricia Ortiz of Tampa, FL and Brenda Rios of Worcester; several grandchildren including Juan Bermudez and Arieliz Clemente whom she raised like her own; and several great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Miguel Villeagas.
She was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She earned her degree in Social Work, reflecting her compassionate nature and lifelong desire to care for others. In her younger years, Carmen worked cleaning homes and providing child care, always taking pride in helping those around her. Her greatest and most cherished role, however, was being the primary caregiver for her beloved grandchildren. She devoted countless hours to nurturing, guiding, and loving them, creating memories they will treasure forever.
Carmen enjoyed traveling, especially to Puerto Rico and Florida, where she found joy in spending time with family and making lasting memories. She also loved treating herself to relaxing spa days and looked forward to visiting the salon to have her hair and nails done. These moments brought her happiness and reflected the pride she took in always looking her best.
Above all else, Carmen was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She was affectionately known as "Giya" by her children and grandchildren—a name spoken with love, warmth, and admiration. Her gentle heart, caring spirit, and selfless devotion to her family defined her life and will remain an enduring part of her legacy.
Carmen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but the love she shared, the lessons she taught, and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of her family for generations to come.
Her funeral services and burial will be private. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 529 Park Avenue is assisting the family with arrangements.
